Target Group: Women from backward classes with a family income below three lakhs per
annum, as per government norms.


About the Scheme:
The Government of India’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Department initiated
the Mahila Samridhi Yojana (MSY) program on October 2, 1993. The goal of this
microfinance initiative is to empower women from disadvantaged origins and economically
disadvantaged places. With the help of this initiative, women can start their own businesses
that generate revenue. With the help of this program, these women can apply for loans with
low interest rates to help them achieve their goals and become financially independent. It’s an
interest-rebate Microfinance program for women. Financial assistance is offered up to a
maximum amount of Rs. 1,40,000.


Assistance Pattern:

Loans under this initiative are disbursed either through SHGs or directly to beneficiaries.
The initiative allows for loans of up to Rs. 15,00,000 per SHG and Rs. 1,00,000 per recipient.
Additionally, the underlying criterion for SHGs is that the maximum number of members be
limited to 20 per group. The maximum loan that the lender can disburse is 95% of the project
cost.

  • Identity Proof
  • Address Proof
  • SHG membership ID
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Bank Account details
  • Income Certificate from a competent authority
  • Aadhar Card
  • Recent Passport Size Photographs
